Artist concept illustrating the Lunar Module (LM) ascent stage docked to the Command/Service Module in lunar orbit. The ascent stage has just returned from the lunar surface. After the two astronauts transfer from the LM back to the Command Module, the LM is jettisoned. The Command/Service Module then begins its journey back toward earth.
